Salix uva-ursi (Pursh) - bearberry willow. Low, prostrate dwarf shrubs up to 10 cm high growing on exposed rock crevices. The plant has small elliptic leaves and extensive much-branched system of stems. Salix uva-ursi grows in Canadian Arctic (Labrador Peninsula, Arctic Archipelago) and south-western shore of Greenland. Samples were collected from south-eastern shore of the Hudson Bay in the vicinity of Inuit commune Kuujjuarapik (Quebec, Kanada). The images of microscopic slides show parts of cross-sections of stems.
